  1. How to remove the annoying Posterous promo bar at the bottom of your Posterous blog

    13 October 2011 - 02:23 PM

    A while back, Posterous introduced the self-promotion bar at the bottom of all blogs. This bar shows to all visitors who aren't logged into Posterous and it looks like this:

    Posted Image

    Many users find this bar annoying, and while all of my new themes hide this bar by default, most themes still show this bar. So here's what you need to do to hide the bar on your own site:

    • Login to Posterous and click the Spaces button in the navigation
    • Click the Settings wheel to the right of the desired space
    • Choose the Customize option
    • Click the Advanced tab
    • If you haven't enabled advanced editing, do so now and give your theme a name
    • Now you're going to want to Expand the code so you can see what you're working with. Click Expand on the right side.
    • Add the following directly under <head>:

    <style type="text/css">
    #posterous_footerbar {
        display:none !important;
        visibility:hidden !important;
    }
    </style>

    Once you've added this, you can click Save, I'm done in the bottom right. Next time you're logged out, you should notice the bar no longer appears. Victory!
  2. Premium theme store launched!

    26 July 2011 - 12:07 PM

    It's official. I've been working hard to put together my Posterous theme store where I can sell and distribute premium Posterous themes, and now it's finally ready.

    This store will be where I post my new themes, both premium and free, as well as where my advanced theme editor will reside when I launch it too.

    Right now I've got three premium themes available for sale. And they're on sale this week, so if any of them look like something you might like to use, now would be the time to buy!

    Say hello to my new Posterous theme store!

    I am trying to find my downloaded "tabby2" so I can use it. Where does it go upon the downloading?

    Hey Cory, I am using your Wild West theme, how can I change the background image? Is there any size requirements or specifications?
    Thanks

    I'm using two of your themes for my posterous blogs. One thing- how can I add a 'previous posts' sidebar? Is that easily done? I hope you can help..

    Hi Cory, I was just wondering if you'd be able to help figure out how to make the tweetboard plugin compatible with posterous.

    I just downloaded and started using your Contra theme. I really like it. I may change the colors slightly, I haven't decided. Very nice.
