Hello!

Recently, I started experimenting with live blogging at events. To minimize clutter, a page on Posterous was created with means to display current live events and store archive links. It already servers very well but an advancement would be to notify readers about what to expect on the page while no events are active.
The initial idea was to create three DIVs, respectively ID'd in CSS - one for the live event code (when available), one for the archive links and one for a message to display if no live event code is present. I coded jQuery so it would detect if <div class="live_event"> was present. If it was not present, it would show (change from display:none with the .show() method) the message DIV.

I have tested this code in a standard HTML page with all elemnts present. When I tried to apply it to the page, I made shure that the jQuery.js file is linked in template headers (added jQueryUI as well). But, after editing the pages source and submitting changes, codes did not appear to work. Posterous also substituted some of the code with something else.
I'm sorry I am unable to provide the codes itslef at the moment.

Is adding jQuery supported? How to achieve it?

Thank you.

Nope, Posterous doesn't allow javascript at the moment. You might try emailing help@posterous.com and stating your case, but no guarantees.

Thank you, Cory. I might as well do that - support is one of Posterouses strongest points, I think. At least in my experience with them.

Oh, one little note about the board - I replied late because the New Post E-mail Notification was sorted to Spam by Google (Google Apps, Gmail). Just to let you know since yo're the admin.
